Vehicle branding is one of the cheapest forms of advertising there is. It works every kilometre, for years, for a one-off cost. But "how much does it cost?" has the same answer as "how long is a piece of string": it depends. Here's what actually drives the price.
1. Coverage: decals, partial or full wrap
The single biggest factor is how much of the vehicle you cover. Cut-vinyl lettering and a logo on the doors and tailgate is the most affordable. A partial wrap adds printed panels over part of the body. A full wrap covers the entire vehicle, including curves, bumpers and recesses, and uses the most material and labour.
2. Vehicle size and shape
A compact hatchback takes far less material and time than a panel van, bakkie or truck. Complex curves, deep recesses and lots of trim also add fitting time, because the vinyl has to be worked around every edge by hand.
3. Material and finish
- Cast wrapping vinyl with a laminate is the standard for full wraps: durable and conformable.
- Reflective, chrome and colour-change films cost more.
- Lamination protects the print from UV and washing, and is worth it outdoors.
4. Design
If you've got print-ready artwork, that part is done. If not, design is billed separately from printing, and our studio sets up artwork that fits the vehicle and prints correctly. You always approve a proof before anything is printed.
So what should you budget?
Rather than guess, send us the vehicle make and model and what you want covered, and we'll give you an accurate quote. Simple lettering is a few hundred rand; a full wrap on a larger vehicle is a bigger investment that pays for itself in exposure. Either way, you get an official quote up front, and pay by EFT or in-store before we start.
