Choosing the right shopfront signage

Choosing the right shopfront signage

Your shopfront is the hardest-working salesperson you have. It sells day and night, to everyone who walks or drives past. Getting it right matters. Here are the main options and when each makes sense.

Flat fascia signs

A printed or cut-vinyl fascia panel is the most cost-effective way to brand a shopfront. Clean, clear and quick to produce, it's ideal where there is good daytime foot traffic and you don't need to be seen after dark.

Illuminated signs and lightboxes

If you trade in the evening, or you're competing with other shops on a busy strip, illumination changes everything. Lightboxes and LED-lit fascias keep your brand visible after sunset and read as more established.

3D and built-up letters

Fabricated letters, flat-cut or built-up, lit or unlit, add depth and a premium feel. They suit brands that want to look the part: restaurants, showrooms, professional offices.

Window graphics and frosting

Don't waste your glass. Window vinyl, frosting and one-way vision turn your windows into branding and privacy without blocking light, which is great for offices, salons and studios.

A few practical tips

  • Legibility beats cleverness: it must read from across the street in a second.
  • Check your signage against any landlord or municipal rules before you commit.
  • One supplier who designs, makes and installs avoids gaps and finger-pointing.
